Congratulations to all of the 2011 Walton Volleyball Teams for an incredible season! Our players and coaches continue to be recognized for their accomplishments!

Suzanne Fitzgerald was recently named the Georgia AAAAA Coach of the Year by the Georgia Volleyball Coaches Association. This is the second year in a row that she has been honored with this award. She also served as one of the coaches for the annual Seniors All-Star match on November 4.

Kelly Murphy was also awarded the Georgia AAAAA Player of the Year by the GVCA. Kelly was also named to the all-state team and participated in the Senior All-Star match on November 4. In addition to this accolade, Kelly was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Under Armour All-American First Team. This award recognizes Kelly as one of the top 24 players in the country. Each of the players on the First-Team will be invited to play in the Under Armour All-America Volleyball Match & Skills Competition.  The event will be held at the Alamodome on December 16 in San Antonio, TX., in conjunction with the 2011 AVCA Annual Convention.

Katherine Plessy was recognized as a member of the All State Team. She was also a Walton representative participating in the GVCA Senior All-Star match on November 4.

Our 1-AAAAA All-Area team representatives were Chloe Cook (sophomore), Tori Ferguson (junior), Kelly Murphy (senior), Katherine Plessy (senior) and Morgan Smith (senior).

Varsity wins the 2011 AAAAA State Championship!!!!!!

Junior Varsity completed an undefeated season capped off by the Cobb County Championship.

The Royals were also undefeated and defended the Gold Division of the Middle School Championships.

The Reds repeated as the Middle School Champions as well in the Silver Division.
